construction of the new state theatre... this link shows what it will look like when its done, i think it'll be quite spectacular, unlike the new stadium which i think is going to look horrendous. sorry, "perth arena" google tells me it is called, ugh, its horrible.

i think this is my favourite photo from the day. its some ramshackle old roofs at the corner of roe and william streets, with the new theatre popping up in the background. i love the way the new theatre is looking, i think its going to be beautiful.

red & black

i went for a wander around northbridge yesterday, while the weather was nice. these three were all taken on william street.

taken at ezra pound on william street. i like the tables in the alley way, and the art. and it has good lighting for blurry, mysterious, photos.

i find this photo a little eerie. it reminds me of movies about the future where nature doesn't really exist, and people live in little box apartments, and they get around in little jet planes not cars. i imagine that the entry sign is telling you where to hover to have your flying jet car's energy restored, and the aerial is zapping directly to the chip in your arm so your credit card can be billed. yikes!

perhaps somewhat ambitiously, since it took two years to do the last one, i am thinking of making another quilt. while i love the last one, it turned out a bit big and heavy for its intended purpose, so i want to make a smaller one now.

even though my inclination is to be lazy and skip this step, today i did the right thing and washed all the fabric. there's a lot of yellow florals too, they just didn't make the photo. the yellow is so sunny and happy for this now getting-gloomy weather.

so we'll see if i am being over ambitious, but when i think about it, it didn't actually take two years - it was more like a day but spread out over two years... hmmm, we'll see.

today is the first day that really feels wintery around here. it rained over night, the first real rain we've had in a long time, and today i've got the day off work which means i can spend the day in my new ugg boots. this cup of milo seemed the perfect rainy wintery afternoon thing to have. i bet now you have seen this photo, you feel like a milo too, no?

found this very cute building in brookton today while i was there for work. it looks like someone is in the process of renovating it... but it looks so pretty the way it is now.

taken in a side street near harbourtown, where i went yesterday. horrible. i hate shopping.
thanks to punctuation mark for being the first person to comment on my blog (on the post about gingerbread men) who i don't actually know! i'm new to this blog thing, so its exciting to imagine someone overseas actually seeing my pictures. i'd still do it if no-one looked i guess, but its nice to know people do look.
